Xaar giving fund continues its support for local charities
Two charities have received £2000 each in donations from Xaar, the leading inkjet printing technology group, based in Cambridgeshire.
Both the Special Care Baby Unit at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and Wood Green, The Animals Charity, have been this year’s beneficiaries of Xaar’s employee-nominated donations.
For almost 10 years, Xaar’s Charity Giving Fund has asked its staff across its UK sites to vote for a local charity of personal significance to them, and both of this year’s winners were equally well supported.
Hinchingbrooke Hospital’s Special Care Baby Unit is staffed by doctors and nurses with specialist skills and experience in looking after premature and sick babies and is open 24 hours per day, 365 days a year, offering support and expert treatment to families in the most difficult of times, and this has become even more difficult during the current pandemic.
Tracy James, from the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, said “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Xaar for raising money for SCBU at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. The money raised will contribute to the current upgrades to our parent facilities on the Unit ensuring parents can stay with their precious babies for longer. This contribution is much appreciated by parents and staff”
Wood Green, based in Godmanchester, has one of the largest animal rehoming centres in Europe, caring for thousands of homeless and injured pets for almost 100 years, as well as supporting new and current pet owners. All its work is funded by charitable donations.
“We are incredibly grateful for Xaar’s support which will help us ensure we can continue to provide a safe, warm place for all the pets in our care whether homeless or in need of our dedicated support” comments Megan Errington, Wood Green’s Corporate Fundraising Manager.
Anne Gager, HR Director at Xaar adds "In today’s trying times, it’s never been more important to show support and care for charities who are working tirelessly to make life a little better for those in need, and I am very proud that we are able to support these two very worthy causes.”
