Colour corrugate
Take your inkjet corrugate colour printing to the next level
Xaar's Aquinox printhead, combined with new high viscosity inks, is making waves by delivering flexo quality, vibrant colours and low costs per print in a single pass - along with the many benefits of digital printing's flexibility and personalisation.
Thanks to Xaar’s Ultra High Viscosity Technology, the Aquinox can jet fluids of up to 1000cp at ambient temperatures (100cP at jetting temperature). This capability has enabled chemists to develop inks that overcome many of the barriers that inkjet has previously faced in the corrugate sector. The new high viscosity inks from Xaar minimise ink absorption into corrugate surface to produce unbeatable opacity and colour vibrancy, as well as using less ink per print.
Brighter colours
Highly reliable printing
Speeds over 150m/min
Enables lighter weight packaging materials
Xaar's Aquinox printhead designed to print aqueous fluids reliably
Engineered to deliver exceptional reliability, the Xaar Aquinox is a revolutionary aqueous printhead that’s truly built to last.
New high aqueous viscosity fluids for rich vibrant colours - No primer or pre-treat needed
The new high viscosity corrugate fluids that we offer minimises ink absorption into corrugated surfaces to produce unbeatable opacity and colour vibrancy, ensuring both visible appeal and durability for corrugated packaging. By absorbing less ink into the board, the same print quality is achieved with less ink, enabling faster printing and significantly reducing production costs as well as the total cost of ownership.
With less substrate penetration, these high viscosity inks can remove the need for primers, simplifying the printing process and improving sustainability by reducing drying energy and fluid usage.
"Now, thanks to our Ultra High Viscosity Technology, we can deliver the high print quality standards demanded while reducing the cost per print. In the past, this has not been possible.”

Verified by independent research
Using the Xaar Aquinox printhead and cyan water-based inks by Nazdar, The Welsh Centre for Printing and Coating, Swansea University team showed several advantages to printing high viscosity aqueous fluids, which is enabled by Xaar’s Ultra High Viscosity Technology.
- Measured colour densities were seen to be up to 60 percent higher, enabling productivity gains and an enhanced gamut by jetting the higher viscosity ink.
- High viscosity water-based fluids soaks much less into porous media (eg corrugate)
- Therefore priming becomes irrelevant, migration is reduced and less pigment is wasted through soaking into the non-coated paper
