Equipment Support Engineer

Huntingdon, UK


Purpose of Role

To support the Equipment Support Manager in delivering a planned and responsive support service to equipment.

Key Accountabilities

Accountability

Measure of Success

Preventative maintenance and breakdown assistance to process equipment.

Minimal downtime and equipment running to maximum efficiency.

Spares – input to sourcing and buying spares.

Stock available as and when required.

Documentation – report writing and input to SOP’s.

 

 

Facilities – provide back up for the Facilities mgt team where necessary.

Minimum downtime.

 


Key Internal Relationships

Liaising with Production team (Managers, Supervisors, Operators and Process, Equipment and Facilities) regarding machine breakdowns.


Key Challenges

To reduce process equipment down time. The efficient and cost effective replenishing of equipment spares.Working under pressure.


Person Specification

  • Hands on, able to work alone using own initiative
  • Make decisions accordingly, plan own workload, effective prioritisation skills
  • Clean Drivers licence
  • Will be required to travel to Sweden occasionally
  • Willing to attend specialist training course


Qualification, Skills and Experience

  • A background as a Field Service Engineer with electronic/mechanical expertise ideal.
  • Electronics qualified to HNC (minimum)
  • Prior knowledge of Optical equipment (working with Excimer/YAG lasers would be an advantage)
  • PLC knowledge. 
  • Some facilities/production process background advantageous
  • IEE 17th addition
  • Microsoft Office (Excel) experience
  • Computer literate
  • Visual Basic programming knowledge.
